Eli — Privacy Policy

Eli is published by Timeless Tech Learning (“we,” “us,” “our”). Eli is your patient, judgment-free tech guide — built for adults who want clear answers without being talked down to. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why, and how we use it. If you have questions, email support@timelesstechlearning.com.

1. Information we collect

Information you provide

• Account info (optional): name, email, and password if you choose to create an Eli account. Many users use Eli anonymously — no signup required.
• Chat messages: the questions and conversations you have with Eli.
• Settings: voice preferences, “Confidence Mode” toggles, and similar in-app settings.

Information collected automatically

• Anonymous session ID: so your chat history persists on this device even without an account.
• Push notification token: if you opt into reminders.
• Device info: operating system and version.

We do not collect: precise location, contacts, camera content, or browsing history.

2. About the microphone

When you tap the microphone button to speak a question, your device turns your speech into text using your phone's own speech-recognition feature. Depending on your device, language, and settings, that speech may be processed entirely on your device, or it may be sent securely to your phone maker's speech service (for example, Apple) to be transcribed. This is the same system your phone uses for dictation. Timeless Tech Learning never receives or stores your voice recording — we only receive the typed text it produces, and only after you send it to Eli. You can always type instead of speaking.

3. How we use your information

• Power Eli's responses (your message is sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate a reply).
• Remember your chat history so you don't repeat yourself across sessions.
• Sync your ADAPT progress so Eli can reference what you've learned (only if you connect ADAPT).
• Send opt-in reminders, evening check-ins, and Monday morning briefs.

We do not sell your data. We do not show ads. Your conversations with Eli are not used to train AI models.

4. Third-party services

• Supabase — anonymous and account sign-in, chat history storage, and settings sync. Receives your anonymous user ID or account email, chat messages, and settings.
• Anthropic — generates Eli's responses (Claude AI). Receives the message you sent and recent conversation context.
• Expo — delivers push notifications. Receives your push token and the notification content.

Anthropic's API terms state that API conversation data is not used to train models by default. We rely on this contractual commitment.

5. ADAPT connection

If you connect Eli to your ADAPT account (via the “Log in with ADAPT” button), Eli receives your current XP, level, selected learning track, and the titles of lessons you've completed. This lets Eli tailor answers to where you are in your learning journey. You can disconnect at any time in Profile → Disconnect ADAPT.

6. Data retention and deletion

• Chat history stays until you tap Profile → Start Fresh (clears all conversations).
• Anonymous accounts are deleted after 12 months of inactivity.
• Account holders can delete their account anytime in the app under Profile → Delete my account, or by emailing us. We delete within 30 days.

7. Security

HTTPS everywhere. Supabase Row Level Security so users only read their own chats. Sign-in tokens are stored in the iOS Keychain / Android KeyStore. We respond quickly to security reports.

8. Children

Eli is built for adult learners. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

9. Your rights

• Access: see your chat history in the Eli tab; see your settings in Profile.
• Delete: Profile → Start Fresh clears chat history. Profile → Delete my account (or emailing us) removes your full account.
• Export: email us for a copy of your data within 30 days.
